The YATOO International Artist in Residence Programme – organised in Gonju-si, South Korea – provides an environment in which artists are able to concentrate on their artwork while surrounded by beautiful, tranquil nature. Residencies last 1-2 months and take place in the period 6 April – 6 June 2020.
As the ecosystem deteriorates because of environmental destruction, this residency programme hopes to find a way to develop new nature art aesthetics to create co-existing harmony between humans and nature. For 2020, the theme of the residency is ‘Green Spectrum’, exploring both the properties of the colour green and issues around ‘green’ ecologies.
The programme is open to artists working in open air sculpture or installation who are active in nature or interested in nature art.
The organisers provide:
-
The opportunity to participate in YATOO Nature Art Workshop.
-
The opportunity to participate in educational programs and activities (with a fee available depending on the content of the programme).
-
The possibility to be recommended to national or international exchange programs.
-
