Uillinn: West Cork Arts Centre Residency Award 2023, supported by the Crespo Foundation, is open to applications from contemporary visual artists who live outside the county of Cork. The residency will run 22 July - 16 September 2023 (8 weeks).
Uillinn: West Cork Arts Centre offers artist in residence studio opportunities to practicing artists for research, the development of their arts practices, and to engage in dialogue with Uillinn, other organisations in Cork, the local community, communities of interest and the general public.
The studios provide space for artists to engage in a programme of work over several weeks or months, to interact with the other artists in residence and exhibiting artists, and to facilitate access to their studio practice for specific groups on creative learning programmes and with the general public.
The opportunity for people to engage with artists working on site is central to the programme, and therefore artists are requested to have their studios open to the public for 2 days each week.
Uillinn provides a vibrant creative hub and an extensive programme of exhibitions, performances and events. There is a strong emphasis on making connections, networking and working with our geographical, social and community contexts. Priority is given to artists who show a strong commitment to public and audiences and proposals that show relevance to our venue location and facilities. Priority will be given to artists who have not been in residence at Uillinn previously.
