IterCulture: Teatri Riflessi 2027 International Short Performance Competition (Italy)

Stars linked with lines and an outline of a dark mountain.

Teatri Riflessi Festival has opened its 2027 call for short performances: live works no longer than 15 minutes of contemporary dance, theatre, circus or multidisciplinary performance, to take place at Zafferana Etnea, Sicily, Italy, from 13 to 18 July 2027.

The imagery evoked by the theme, constellations, is that of a living web of invisible bonds: not isolated points in the sky, but a network of relationships that precedes us, flows through us, and connects us to others and to the landscapes we inhabit. The aim is to reaffirm the value of connection as a daily practice and a political choice, reflecting on our place within a complex ecosystem and exploring how the performing arts can render these interdependencies visible, transforming gestures and encounters into acts of care, responsibility, and shared hope.

Selected works will compete in front of numerous Italian and international professionals (theatre and festival directors, dance networks coordinators, programmers, residency centres, critics and scholars) for several monetary prizes (300 EUR–1,800 EUR) and the possibility of receiving touring and artist residency opportunities.

Selected works will receive a cachet ranging from 500 EUR to 1,100 EUR (based on the number of performers on stage) and partial support for travel expenses (up to 250 EUR).
