The European Commission is calling for general feedback through a Call for Evidence regarding the Culture Compass for Europe; the Culture Compass will serve as a strategic framework for EU cultural policy and it aims to improve the consistency of EU policies and strengthen coordination between funding and policy.

The initiative will:

  • give visibility to EU action in support of Europe’s diverse culture and its rich cultural heritage,
  • improve working conditions of artists and cultural professionals, and
  • unlock the competitive potential of the cultural and creative sectors.

A targeted consultation gathers specialised insights and feedback from those most concerned by cultural policies, including artists, cultural professionals, sectoral players and Member States. Their firsthand knowledge and experience are essential in devising a strategy that aligns with the needs and aspirations of these sectors while promoting innovation, competitiveness, and sustainability.

The main target audience of the new Culture Compass is the following:

  • Organisations and bodies representing cultural and creative sectors and industries in Europe
