Euro Cities: Project Coordinator for the European Heritage Hub (Belgium)

Eurocities, the network of major European cities, is recruiting a project coordinator to work on the European Heritage Hub project. The candidate would ideally start on 2 May 2023.

As project coordinator, you will be responsible for all Eurocities activities under the European Heritage Hub project. Gathering diverse expertise and pooling resources to mobilise and strengthen a cultural heritage-driven movement in Europe, the European Heritage Hub project, co-financed by the European Commission, will strengthen the cultural heritage-driven movement in Europe.

The European Heritage Hub will be a knowledge-sharing, networking, training and capacity-building as well as advocacy platform for cultural heritage stakeholders at European, national and regional levels.

The hub will also drive policy analysis and advocacy, build connections with existing EU-level initiatives, and develop awareness-raising campaigns on safeguarding cultural heritage.

As project coordinator, you will work as part of the culture team. In this role, you will:

  • Manage Eurocities’ activities and responsibilities in the framework of the project. This includes: identifying and sharing local innovative practices; assessing cities’ specific learning needs; organising knowledge-sharing activities, both online and onsite; providing policy recommendations.
  • Deliver high-quality project deliverables.
  • Ensure smooth cooperation with the organisation leading the project and with project partners.
  • Promote activities results internally and externally.
  • Disseminate information on the project outcomes in cooperation with the communications team.
  • Manage the project budget within Eurocities’ responsibility.
  • Prepare required deliverables, technical reports, and cost statements.
  • Ensure strong links with policy work and relevant EU platforms and initiatives.
  • Stimulate and support project development in the domain of culture and cultural heritage in cooperation with the head of culture & knowledge-sharing director.

Euro Cities offer a fixed-term contract linked to the length of the project (2 years), starting in May 2023 – a part-time contract (80%) as employee, under Belgian legislation. The selected candidate will need to either live in Belgium or be willing to move to Belgium for the duration of the contract (candidates need to provide a Belgian address). Salary is 2500 € – 2880 € monthly gross for 80% work regime, according to profile and experience, plus various benefits.
