Are you an artist or a cultural operator? Are you from a MENA country? Are you living and working in the European Union? Do you have a proven record or a genuine interest in research, policy, advocacy? Would you like to contribute to identifying the challenges faced by MENA artists and cultural workers residing in the EU in regards to: working conditions, mobility of artists and cultural professionals, and freedom of artistic expression?
Culture Action Europe is launching a call for contributions to reports in the framework of the project ‘Engaging with MENA cultural agents in the EU’. They are searching for 6 participants to form 3 reading panels on the following topics:
- Working conditions.
- Mobility of artists and cultural professionals.
- Freedom of artistic expression.
Participants will work together with a main researcher and three experts on the focus topics. The research aims at providing some answers to the central question, Which are the challenges that obstruct MENA artists and cultural workers residing in the EU from fulfilling their professional life as well as cooperating with other EU peers?
The reading panels’ work will take place in July, September and October 2021. Culture Action Europe offers a 300 EUR per full day fee, with an estimated 4 full days of work (a total of 32 hours).
