The International Ceramics Exhibition Mino, Japan, is calling for self-created works mainly made of ceramics on the theme of ‘Potential of Ceramics’. About 200 works, selected from the competition, will be exhibited at Ceramics Park MINO in Tajimi City, Gifu Prefecture from 8 October to 7 November 2027.
The aim of the competition is to support the growth of the ceramics industry and the enhancement of culture through the global exchange of ceramics design and culture. Entries should go beyond traditional concepts, demonstrate imagination and explore the potential of ceramics.
Conditions
- Works must have been produced on or after 1 February 2024
- Works cannot have selected in other public competitions
- The size, weight, and shape of the work must not interfere with its transportation or indoor exhibition (the guideline is a floor space of 4 ㎡ or less, a height of 4m or less, and a weight of 100kg or less)
The awards for this competition are as follows:
- Grand Prix: 5,000,000 JPY (1 work)
- Gold Award: 2,000,000 JPY (1 work)
- Silver Award: 1,000,000 JPY (3 works)
- Bronze Award: 500,000 JPY (4 works)
- Special Judge’s Award: 100,000 JPY (10 works)
In addition, the Sakazaki Shigeo Ceramics Award will be presented to two artists up to 40 years old (Prize Money: 500,000 JPY each)
The Grand Prix winner will be invited to attend the award ceremony. The round-trip transportation and the accommodation fee will be covered by the organiser.
