Based in Lisbon and founded in 1999 by Vera Mantero, O Rumo do Fumo is a creation, production, national and international tour managing, research, teaching and programming structure in the field of contemporary dance, which positions itself in an experimental and research artistic territory. The O Rumo do Fumo residency programme supports contemporary artistic creation, stimulating its research and development by hosting two residencies for emerging artists.
Residency periods:
- 5 – 30 August 2024
- 30 September – 25 October 2024
The project must be an original work, in creation phase and yet to premiere, in the field of Dance and/or Performance and each author of the project must have created a maximum of three works with presentation in a professional context.
The programme provides
- Production support grant of 1,000 EUR per project;
- Two sessions of artistic accompaniment to the project by artist(s) from O Rumo do Fumo;
- Organisation of a final informal public presentation at Espaço da Penha;
- Compensation for travelling, accommodation and food expenses of 600 EUR to be divided between the two supported projects
- The organisation of travel, accommodation, insurance and medical assistance during the period of residence is the responsibility of each applicant;
- Support for communication and publicising
