Granada UNESCO City of Literature, part of the Arts Department of the Granada City Council, in collaboration with the University of Granada, through its Vice-Rectorates for University Extension, Heritage and Institutional Relations; Internationalisation; and Social Responsibility, Equality and Inclusion, has announced a new edition of its International Writers in Residence Programme in Granada.
The programme was established with the overarching aim of strengthening international cooperation in the cultural sector in general, and in literary creation in particular.
The International Granada Writers in Residence Programme 2026 is open to writers residing in any country and writing in any language.
The residency is a 30-night stay in Granada for two writers, 2 November to 1 December 2026, inclusive, at the Corrala de Santiago, University of Granada.
Support
- Round-trip travel expenses for each selected writer from the airport nearest to their place of residence to Granada Airport.
- Accommodation in a single room on a full-board basis at its guest residence, the Corrala de Santiago.
- Granada UNESCO City of Literature and the University of Granada will facilitate opportunities for resident writers to engage with Granada’s literary life, meet local authors, and participate in workshops and educational activities.
