The Enclosed Garden (TEG) is a nomadic, women-led, transdisciplinary festival combining ecological, artistic, and performative practices in non-institutional, nature-based settings which in 2025 will be held from 9 August to 1 September.
This is an immersive residency in a secluded house in nature, with a full daily schedule of activities (approximately 8 hours per day). The programme is inspired by the embodied practices of Anna Halprin and Meredith Monk, with a focus on endurance, collective living, and care—encouraging the creation of a regenerative space for learning, healing, and transformation. Each day includes workshops in textile arts, weaving, drawing, dance, somatics, visual poetry, singing, writing, hiking, planting, and cooking.
After two weeks of workshops in nature, artists move to the city for an 8-day intensive to co-create a site-specific, multidisciplinary show in an empty building. The space is transformed through collective work across mediums.
The exhibition unfolds live over three evenings. Every hour, a group of 20 visitors enters to witness an evolving experience. Ten artists paint, draw, sing, dance, play soundscapes, share texts and videos, and build installations—shaping the show in real time.
