Delfina Foundation: 2026 Residency for Artists based in East Africa (UK)

Delfina Foundation, with support from Delfina Foundation’s Network of Africa Patrons, welcomes applications from artists based in East Africa for a 12-week residency in London from 6 January to 27 March 2026.

Each year, Delfina Foundation runs four three-month residency seasons. These residency seasons are dedicated to ‘open’ independent research or to ‘thematic’ collective research around a specific issue or idea. This residency will take place during the ‘open’ winter season 2026.

Applicants must be a citizen, or long-term resident, living and working in one of the following countries: British Indian Ocean Territory, Burundi, Comoros, Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, French Southern Territories, Kenya, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mayotte, Mozambique, Réunion, Rwanda, Seychelles, Somalia, South Sudan, Uganda, United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe.

The selected applicant will receive a twelve-week residency at Delfina Foundation, including:

  • A return economy-class flight
  • Airport transfers in the UK
  • Reimbursement of visa fee (if required)
  • A living allowance of 40 GBP per day
  • A materials budget of 1,000 GBP
  • Local travel pass
  • A single bedroom at Delfina Foundation
  • Opportunities to engage in the art scene in UK through structured activities and independent time
  • Access to a programme of planned group activities
