Mob in Med! For Fairer and Freer Mobility Across the Mediterranean Advocacy Tools

Title of the project with a wavy line.

The Mob in Med! project, led by the Réseau Euromed France and Jeunesses Med in close collaboration with Mana Chuma Teatro, has published the outcomes of the project that can be used, disseminated, or adopted as advocacy tools.

Co-developed by 22 young people from 9 countries, the campaign ‘Mob In Med: Make Your Voice Heard on the Obstacles to Youth Mobility in the Mediterranean’ aimed to amplify the voices and aspirations of Mediterranean youth for fairer mobility. It asserted that mobility is a deeply political issue, far from prejudices and colonial imaginaries.

The advocacy tools include:

  • Illustrated booklet of testimonies: This booklet brings together the testimonies of nine young people who faced obstacles to mobility when attempting to attend the Jeunesses Med meeting in Reggio Calabria in 2024.
  • Short videos: Alongside the booklet, four participants produced short videos in the form of ‘territorial zooms’ (Palestine, Lebanon, Calabria, Seine-Saint-Denis), highlighting concrete barriers to mobility in their local contexts.
  • Recommendations: These recommendations stem from the reflections developed throughout the Mob in Med project on the obstacles to youth mobility in the Mediterranean.
  • Guide to using the tools: These tools, carried by Mediterranean youth and rooted in the region’s realities, aim to foster change in the Mediterranean as well as in other territories facing similar challenges.
  • Good practices guide: The partners of the Mob in Med project have also developed a good practices guide to share their experiences, highlight challenges, and present the positive factors that contributed to the implementation of the activities carried out together.
