- News / SODAS 2123: Residency for Nordic and Baltic Curators and Researchers to Develop ūmėdė’2024 Festival (Lithuania)The curators of ūmėdė’2024 invite applications from Nordic and Baltic curators and researchers to come up with draft proposals for the second edition of the festival. The selected residents will have the opportunity to immerse themselves for two months in the local context of Vilnius and the cultural complex SODAS 2123, either in April-May 2023 or June-July 2023.
- News / SMK - National Gallery of Denmark: Poster Presentations for ‘Sialussuartut, Redefining Greenlandic Art History’ (Denmark)In autumn 2023, the National Gallery of Denmark (Statens Museum for Kunst, SMK) will open an exhibition by the acclaimed artist Jessie Kleemann (1959-) - the first solo exhibition by a Kalaaleq artist organised by the museum. The seminar will feature two poster sessions for which SMK now seek proposals. With these sessions, they aim to engage younger researchers, artists, and art students in order to build bridges between senior and emerging researchers and to unfold the seminar theme in the fullest.
- News / Karosta Festival: Call for Artists to Make Artworks in Former Naval Base (Latvia)For more than a hundred years Karosta was a naval base closed to the public. Now, decades after the military has left, Karosta (located in Liepaja, Latvia) is having a second life. Karosta Festival seeks artistic creation processes, exhibitions, concerts, performances and workshops. New artwork will be created during the festival week in Karosta (5-11 June 2023) and presented during three public events 9, 10 and 11 June.
- News / Tartu City of Literature: Residency Programme for Writers and Translators (Estonia)Tartu City of Literature residency programme is open to writers and translators (translating from Estonian to other languages). The residency period is 2 months - April-May 2023. Applicants should have at least one published book (fiction or non-fiction), screenplay, theatre script or translation from Estonian into another language.
- News / KORDON: Food and Energy Lab for Artists from the Nordic and Baltic Region (Estonia)KORDON invites artists from the Nordic and Baltic region to join a long-term lab and residency process aimed at widening the understanding of food in relation to energy. Each artist will be invited for approx. 11 weeks of residency divided between three different time periods of approx. 1 month. The full cycle will run from summer/autumn 2023 to summer 2024.

- News / Moving Cities Residency and Performance Project for Choreographic Interventions in Public Space (Estonia / Norway)Sõltumatu Tantsu Lava in Estonia and Davvi - Center for the Performing Arts in Norway are looking for 4 Estonian artists and 4 Norwegian artists for a collaborative project to develop choreographic interventions in public space. The project consists of 3 parts: 2-week research residency in Tartu in August 2023; 3-week research residency with a public presentation in Bodø in June 2024; 3-week residency and rehearsal period with 3 public performances in Tartu in July 2024.
- News / More-than-Planet: Residencies in Research Stations in Pyhäsalmi Mine and Oulanka National Park (Finland)As part of the European project More-than-Planet, Finnish partner Photo North - Northern Photographic Centre is launching an open call for artists for two residency programmes in 2023 and 2024 at Pyhäsalmi Mine and Oulanka National Park in Finland. The programme aims to re-examine the way people understand and picture the environment on the level of the planet as a conceptual whole. The residency is open to all forms of art but places an emphasis on artistic practices that employ lens-based techniques.
