Open Call for Artistic Intervention at Fragmentos, Espacio de Arte y Memoria (Colombia)

Fragmentos, Espacio de Arte y Memoria, part of the National Museum of Colombia, through the Ministry of Culture, summons plastic and visual artists, as well as artists with transdisciplinary vocations, to carry out an artistic intervention in the space. The artwork must deal with the Colombian conflict, international armed conflicts, victims’ memories, and the construction of peace; it may also include as well experiences of peace agreements and reconciliation processes of Colombia and other countries. In the fourth edition of the call, proposals will be selected according to its capacity to dialogue with the counter-monument created in 2017 by the artist Doris Salcedo, seeking to reflect on multiple memories of the conflict through artistic processes.

For the 2021 edition, the call will award 160 million Colombian pesos (~35,400 EUR) for the research, production and exhibition of an artistic intervention which will take place between the second semester of 2022 and the first semester of 2023. The winner will count on the support of the National Museum of Colombia in terms of advice of the museum design and the installation of the artworks.

Individual artists, groups or collectives, who can prove a career of more than 15 years of continuous professional work are invited to apply. In the case of groups or collectives, at least 50% of their members must have the required track record.
