IASPIS – the Swedish Arts Grants Committee International Programme for Visual and Applied Arts are looking for a guest curator for a limited period of time, who would liaise with the management and other staff on developing operations at IASPIS.
Over the coming years, IASPIS are trying a new concept to enhance their operations. The guest curator position is for one year, with a possible extension.
If you have an in-depth knowledge in the field of visual and applied arts, extensive experience from working internationally in these fields, and want to join the team to develop the artistic focus of IASPIS, you could be the person they are looking for. The position involves working to enhance and develop the residence programme in Stockholm and the IASPIS public programme, as well as identifying strategic areas for development and possible Swedish and international collaborations.
The work description includes:
- Strengthening and developing IASPIS’s artistic direction.
- Strengthening and developing the residency programme in Stockholm.
- Strengthening and developing the public programme.
- Identifying strategic development areas and possible collaborative projects for IASPIS.
- Representing IASPIS in external contexts.
They are looking for someone with the following qualities:
- At least three years’ experience of working as a curator, project manager or artistic director in the areas of visual and applied arts.
- Completion of university education of at least three years’ duration or other education deemed equivalent.
- Experience of international work in the areas of visual and applied arts.
- Having an established network in the areas of visual and applied arts both in Sweden and internationally.
- Experienced in representing an institution in public contexts.
- An excellent command of spoken and written English.
The position is full time, with a fixed term of one year, with a possible extension, starting on 1 October 2021 or by agreement.
