    News / DISKURS35: Open Call for Artworks and Proposals for Festival of Art and Theory (Germany)

    DISKURS is a festival at the interface between art and theory. The next edition will take place from 11-17 October 2021. Proposals are sought from the fields of performance, installation, media art, as well as lectures, discussion series and all hybrid or undefined formats. Two short residencies (27 September – 10 October 2021) will also be offered during the festival, inviting those involved with theory and art to work on research projects on site, which can be presented during the festival period.

    An important goal of the ‘Collision of Arts’ residency is to establish a creative scene in the small town of Bischofswerda, Germany and build up a permanent network there.     The Goethe-Institut and Bozar together with Werkplaats Walter in Belgium and the Amman Jazz Festival in Jordan are starting a music residency programme in 2021/2022 and are looking for six motivated emerging professional musicians from both the Arab World and Europe to meet, exchange ideas and perform in Brussels (Belgium) from 29 November to 5 December 2021. The open call for this first residency focuses on jazz and electronic music.

    Spot on Economies focuses on economies as crucial crossroads between social, ecological, and political futures. Over the course of two weeks (1-17 October 2021), PACT Zollverein opens its whole house for a collaborative residential research phase framed by a public programme of notable lectures and workshops. Diverse research groups can apply to share and develop their ideas, questions, and proposals in a transdisciplinary way with other scholars, artists, practitioners and activists.
