Experiment B is a residency programme focusing on the intersection between scientific research and dance practice. Existing collaborative duos or groups that involve at least one choreographer and one scientist can apply with an idea or project that they wish to collaborate on. Residencies will take place over two months, from 15 October – 15 December 2023.

Highlight Delft, iii and VPInstruments are looking for artists who would like to participate in a residency programme at a sensor company. This first open call is hosted by VPInstruments – a company that specialises in highly accurate measurement and mapping of air and gas flows. The residency will take place October 2023 – January 2024, with a final presentation at Highlight Festival on 15-17 February 2024.

The RACOR cross-artistic research residency programme is open to artists working in any creative discipline anywhere in the world who are carrying out an art research project which in some way involves the technical and scientific world. The selected artist or group will receive a grant to carry out a cross-residency split between Barcelona (Hangar and CCCB) and Donostia/San Sebastián (Tabakalera). The residency will last two and a half months, with five weeks in each city.

Collide Copenhagen residency award is the new collaboration framework between CERN and Copenhagen Contemporary that aims to support artistic research on art, science and technology. Artists from any country in the world are invited to submit an application proposing a project that combines research and production of a new work to develop during a two-month residency from October - November 2023.

The association KIKK is launching an Art and Science residency programme at the UNamur (University of Namur) Astronomical Observatory, organised in partnership with the Delta, the cultural space of the Province of Namur, and the TRAKK, the Creative Hub, Medialab and Fab Lab of Namur. Two artists and/or collectives will be hosted in residency studios located on the rooftop of the Delta in Namur, Belgium from 14 May – 14 June 2023 and receive a grant to develop an Art / Science project on the theme of astronomy, as well as curatorial and scientific support to develop their production project.

As part of the European project Rewilding Cultures, The Ionian University is calling for applicants for the ‘TTTfellows: Art and Science Residency’, taking place 17-30 April 2023 online, and 1-16 May 2023 on the island of Corfu. The open call is for one artist and one scientist to collaborate with one another.

This practice-based, interdisciplinary PhD studentship will draw on research from across the arts, humanities, science and technology to innovate novel approaches to the cultural negotiation of space science as a field of practice characterised by vertiginous scalar extremes and remote sensing technology. The studentship is available to Home and International (including EU) students. Provisional start date is 1 October 2023.

In January 2023, Kultur einer Digitalstadt is again inviting applications for three Artist-in-Science-Residencies (AiSR) for artists of all disciplines. This studio residency on the Rosenhöhe in Darmstadt is linked to a collaboration with one of three renowned Darmstadt research institutes - the Hessian Center for Artificial Intelligence (hessian.AI), the GSI Helmholtzzentrum für Schwerionenforschung, and the European Space Operations Centre (ESOC). A total of three 6-week fellowships will be conducted between June and October 2023.
