The Armenian Center for Contemporary Experimental Art NPAK is calling for performers and cultural professionals to participate in the residency project ‘Perform with the Community’ in Araks village, Armenia, for 83 days between September and December 2024.
This project is dedicated to creating a collaborative working space for developing immersive theatrical plays that research and engage with the local community of Araks village.
Located in a village with a rich cultural background, Araks village is a borderline village with Turkey, where the holy river of Armenians, Araks, flows, and the iconic Mount Ararat is seen up close. The residency aims to immerse participants in the local culture, offering a unique opportunity to explore and create. There are opportunities for collaboration, community engagement and presenting work in the village’s house of culture and/or at NPAK in Yerevan during the main festival in November.
The residency provides a daily allowance (covering costs such as food and local transportation) fixed at 25 EUR per day and travel costs set at 700 EUR (depending on travel distance and mode of transportation).
