Tautai is inviting proposals from Moana arts practitioners across all creative disciplines – visual arts, music, dance, design, film, fashion, writing and emerging art forms – to develop works as part of the 2024 Fale-ships Residency and Exhibition.
The Fale-ship Residency will be split into two parts; the first of which is a two-week remote residency where Tautai supports five successful recipients with a residency stipend of 2,000 NZD (subject to withholding tax) to develop work that responds to theme ‘A Seat at the Table’.
These five successful applicants will have their making process showcased across Tautai’s platforms between October to December 2024. This opportunity then culminates into an on-site exhibition of the final art works in the Tautai gallery space taking place 5–20 December 2024. Over the course of the residency and build up to the exhibition, successful applicants will receive curatorial support from the Tautai team.
Tautai will work together with successful applicants on an exhibition budget that will go towards the below costs:
- Artist exhibition fees
- Travel and accommodation if applicable
- Installation
- Exhibition opening
- Public programming
- Marketing
