The European Festivals Association (EFA) are looking for a Communication and Administration assistant who will be in charge of supporting the EFA team in its daily work. The employment is in the framework of the project ‘jobcreatie’ of the Flemish government, which requires the candidate to be under 26 years old.

EFA connects 100 festivals and festival associations in 40 countries. EFA members are the core that make the Association an open, influential, international place for any festival that wants to be part of a bigger festival community.

EFA’s mission is to unite and represent its member festivals across Europe and the world by contributing to the artistic life of Europe. It acts as the most important platform for arts festivals. EFA members take the joint responsibility that the arts are prioritised offering their platforms to bring the arts to audiences. Access and participation in culture and the arts is a Human Right. By supporting and enabling artistic creation, production and participation, EFA and its members ensure that this right is made a reality for all citizens. Interaction between festivals, with public authorities and the other stakeholders in the arts are central to EFA’s work.

Key responsibilities

  • Support the Communication manager in compiling, creating and posting content (articles, videos, visuals, etc.) for EFA’s various websites, social media, newsletter, publications, etc.
  • Monitor media coverage of EFA, its projects and its members.
  • Build and maintain the mailing lists and databases.
  • Update the Alliance Knowledge Centre.
  • Assist in the communication on various events and initiatives around the years.
  • Assist in creation of visual, audiovisual, etc. material and documents.
  • Follow new EU initiatives as the New European Bauhaus, the Green agenda, for communication content, etc.
  • Assist the team to send, compile, archive contracts and deliverables for EU projects.
  • Assistance in all administrative tasks (travel and hotel booking, financial management assistance).

EFA offers an interesting, challenging and varied job within an enthusiastic team and an international organisation. This is a full time 40 hours/week position, with compensation according to PC 329 grading.
