Dynamo is offering thematic residencies open to circus artists and companies who work cross-aesthetically with music composition and contemporary circus.
The Long Residency runs for 4 consecutive weeks between 26 May and 21 June 2026 on the Main Stage. The Short Residencies comprise 3 residencies of 2 weeks consecutively in 2026 and 3 residencies of 2 weeks consecutively in 2027, at times to be arranged with selected applicants. All residencies take place at DYNAMO, Odense, Denmark.
Projects may be research- or experimental-based, or close to production or premiering. DYNAMO wishes to support unrestricted creative work contributing to the development of contemporary circus in the Nordic region and Europe. The opportunity supports the creation and development of new work combining circus discipline(s) and any musical genre. There is a public work-in-progress showing as part of the residency.
Professional contemporary circus artists or companies can apply. The Long Residency is open only to applicants/companies based in Nordic and Baltic countries, excluding Denmark. The Short Residencies are open to applicants anywhere in the world, including Denmark. Nationality is not the determining factor. Very large groups, very large productions, or those based extremely far away may not be accommodated.
What is provided:
- For the Long Residency, an artistic fee up to 3,200 EUR per company, per diems totalling 2,700 EUR per company, travel reimbursement up to 670 EUR per company
- For Short Residencies, an artistic fee up to 800 EUR per company and travel reimbursement up to 670 EUR per company
- Shared-apartment accommodation
- Workspace on Main Stage or Studio (with basic rigging, crash mats, basic lights and sound, technical support for public presentation)
- One professional photoshoot per residency
- Lunch provided every weekday
