The project MODINA (Movement, Digital Intelligence and Interactive Audience) aims to expand the creative possibilities for contemporary dance performances, and augment the experience for the audience, using digital technology – with an emphasis on exploring artificial intelligence (AI) and audience interaction, on-site and online. The project seeks dance and technology duos for residencies in performance centres in Romania, Slovenia, Estonia, Germany and Hungary. Five 8-week residencies will take place between November 2023 and April 2024.

Kranj Foto Fest has announced its open call for exhibitions 2023 on the theme of HUMAN — NATURE. They seek visually powerful and thought-provoking stories that showcase the relationship between humanity and the environment. The selected artist will have a solo exhibition in Kranj, Slovenia, at the programme of Kranj Foto Fest 2023 and be invited for the opening week (from 23-27 August 2023).

As a member of the international collaboration A-Place, LOOP (a platform dedicated to the study and promotion of the moving image) will commission a video production to investigate the process of creating a sense of place in one of the six cities participating in the project (Barcelona, Bologna, Brussels, Lisbon, Ljubljana and Nicosia). Multidisciplinary artists who are legal residents in the European Union can apply.

MGLC Švicarija, a creative and residential centre, in collaboration with the Igor Zabel Association for Culture and Theory, both based in Ljubljana, Slovenia, is inviting art critics and cultural journalists to apply for a fully funded, one-month residency in Ljubljana during October 2023.

Ljubljana, a UNESCO City of Literature since 2015, offers two one-month residencies (in June and October-November 2023) for writers at the Švicarija/Swisshouse Creative Centre, which is part of the International Centre of Graphic Arts. Applicants must have a strong relation to one of the other 41 cities of literature.

BABEL – or The Art of Listening in Theatre for young audiences (TYA) is seeking young emerging arts practitioners (under 36 years old) for participation in training workshops within the theme ‘The Art of Listening, the sensitive relationship between performer and child/adolescent spectator’ during several BABEL festivals in different countries in Europe over the period of 2023-2024.

The project #synergy: Sharpening the capacities of the classical music industry in the Western Balkans is calling for emerging music performers to work closely with twelve composers on newly commissioned works. These will be performed on a festival tour, organised by the project partners during the summer of 2023.

ETC - European Theatre Convention are looking for emerging theatre artists (particularly stage directors and dramaturgs) to join them in the sixth edition of the ETC Artist Residency Programme, offering placements of 4 to 8 weeks at ETC Member Theatres. Various residencies will take place throughout the first half of 2023.

European artists, or collectives can apply to the EMAP residency programme with a project proposal for a residency of two months within June 2022 to January 2023. The artists will be collaborating with an artist of their choice or an artist local to the platform’s host institutions.

LINA, the European architecture platform, is looking for innovative projects and practices that address sustainable and environmental challenges in architecture, with the ambition of eventual implementation. Authors of selected projects, LINA fellows, will present their work at the LINA conference in Ljubljana on 21-22 October 2022, and become part of a support programme from October 2022 - May 2023. Applicants must be from countries of the European Union or countries participating in the Creative Europe Programme.
