Loewe Foundation: 2027 Craft Prize

Four objects in a gallery setting.

The LOEWE FOUNDATION is calling for applications for the 2027 Craft Prize, to showcase and celebrate newness, excellence and artistic merit in modern craft. An accompanying physical exhibition featuring 30 shortlisted works will take place in Europe during the spring of 2027.

The call is open to professional artisans worldwide over the age of 18, applying either as individuals or collectives. Submitted objects must fall within the applied arts, covering disciplines from bookbinding and ceramics to leatherwork and metal. The foundation requires each piece to be original, at least partially handmade, and created within the past five years. Entries must be unique and cannot have received previous awards.

The Prize for the winning piece of work is 50,000 EUR. The winning entry can be made up of either one single piece of work or one series of works.

The Prize for the works awarded with a Special Mention is 5,000 EUR, regardless of the number of Special Mentions granted.

The works created by the Winner and Finalists will be included in the exhibition ‘LOEWE FOUNDATION Craft Prize 2027’ and its accompanying catalogue, on view in Europe in the spring of 2027 or any other location that LOEWE FOUNDATION may deem appropriate.

All Finalists, if required, agree to be present in this event and must be able to fulfil press requests if any. The LOEWE FOUNDATION would assume travel and accommodation expenses.
