Influss is a multidisciplinary residency programme that moves beyond traditional, production-focused models to champion the intrinsic value of the creative process. The Culture Directorate of Malta, in collaboration with Malta Society of Arts, and the Valletta Cultural Agency through the Valletta Design Cluster, invite practitioners to pursue deep creative inquiry whilst grounding their work in the cultural and physical landscape of Malta.
The residency is guided by three core pillars:
- Critical Inquiry: A dedicated platform for both practice-based work and theoretical research.
- Contextual Immersion: Active engagement with Malta’s heritage, communities, and creative ecology.
- Experimentation: The space to test new methodologies, take risks, and evolve your practice.
The programme accommodates a maximum of four artists, distributed across two cohorts. Applicants will be asked to specify their availability to one or both of the following periods for a minimum of three weeks and maximum of four weeks:
- Cohort 1: 31 August – 30 September 2026
- Cohort 2: 15 October – 15 November 2026
This residency is designed for individual practitioners (from duos or collectives will not be accepted). Applicants must be active in one of the following sectors: Architecture, Cultural Heritage, Design and Fashion Design, Literature, Music, Performing Arts, and/or Visual Arts.
A maximum of four artists will benefit from 5,000 EUR each, for travel costs, accommodation, per diem, and an artistic fee.
