Art Explora has launched the call for applications for the Art Explora – Cité internationale des Arts Residency Programme 2027.
Fostering new encounters between arts and audiences, locally, nationally and internationally, Art Explora created its first residency programme in Paris in 2021. Since then, the residency programme has welcomed and supported more than 145 residents, from 58 countries, of all ages and disciplines.
Artists and collectives of artists, researchers and curators from all around the world are invited to apply for this residency programme, with projects that question relations between art, science and technology, and address social and ecological issues of our time.
Two programmes are proposed:
- SOLO programme for artists only;
- COLLECTIVE programme for collectives of artists or artist & researcher/curator
The residencies are 3 or 6 months and there are two residency sessions:
- March – August 2027 (Session 1)
- September 2027 – February 2028 (Session 2)
The Art Explora programme offers tailor-made support that accompanies artists throughout their creative process, through both curatorial and production support. Complementing this, a mentorship programme with leading figures from the art world further strengthens the support offered to artists. Active networking is also one of the programme’s key pillars.
Eligible artistic disciplines are visual arts, performing arts, and digital arts. The eligible research fields are humanities, social sciences, sciences, technological innovation and ecology.
Each resident receives:
- A 3- or 6-month residency at the Cité internationale des arts – Montmartre site, in Paris
- A fully furnished and equipped live-work studio of approximately 50 m²
- A living allowance of 1,000 EUR per month
- A production grant of 3,000 EUR
- A round-trip journey to Paris
