European Emerging Bands Contest (France)

A young woman with a shiny black guitar punches the air and smiles in celebration.

Thousands of young people from all over Europe will gather in Strasbourg (France) between 9-10 June 2023 for the 5th edition of the #EYE2023 (European Youth Event).

EYE will bring young people from all over Europe to Strasbourg to tackle the greatest challenges facing this generation. It is an opportunity to reconnect youth with Europe’s institutions, open dialogue and discussions, express opinions (including through music), and celebrate all steps forward towards a better world.

To serve this audience of engaged European youth, the European Parliament has partnered with JM International to find and support the best new European musical acts, providing a unique platform to be discovered by future fans.

Solo artists and bands from EU member states, EFTA countries, candidate countries and former EU members are invited to enter the 2023 edition of the European Emerging Bands Contest. As the EYE is all about empowering youth, all members of the applying groups must be under the age of 30. Jury members will seek out artists who bring a unique vibe that can connect with a young, diverse European audience. Your music should appeal to a wide range of people and even better if your songs contribute to raising awareness of issues facing your generation, whether that’s climate change or gender equality, social inclusion or mental health, from democratic participation to peace.

6 up-and-coming European bands/artists will be selected and the organisers will cover all their expenses, including getting to and from the event and their stay in Strasbourg, from 8-11 June 2023. Moreover, winners can look forward to coaching sessions with professionals, as preparations before the EYE2023 and a follow-up evaluation after. Each winner will also receive a cash prize of €800.
