Culture Moves Europe promotes cultural and artistic mobility by supporting individual mobility and residency projects across all Creative Europe countries. The project is funded by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union and implemented by the Goethe-Institut.
The Individual Mobility supports artists and cultural professionals to carry out a project with a partner of their choice in a Creative Europe country which is not their country of residence. The partner can be an individual or an organisation. It is possible to apply either as an individual or as a group of up to five people.
The project must follow two of the following objectives: to learn, to create, to explore, or to connect. The project must be between 7 and 60 days in length (for individuals) or between 7 and 21 days (for groups).
Applicants must legally reside in one of the Creative Europe countries, including the OCTs and ORs and they must be active in one of the following sectors: Architecture, Cultural Heritage, Design and Fashion Design, Literature, Music, Performing Arts, and Visual Arts.
Applicants who have applied for and/or received a grant of Culture Moves Europe in previous calls (2022-2025) can apply again, however, priority may be given to first-time applicants.
The grant provides:
- A daily allowance of 85 EUR per day
- Travel allowance (400 EUR for distances under 5,000 km, 800 EUR for greater distances)
- Top-ups such as green mobility (400 EUR), overseas or outermost region top-up (175 EUR), family top-up (200 EUR per child), visa top-up (120 EUR)
- Accessibility support is offered at 30 EUR per day (for personal assistance or sign-language interpretation)
The Call for Individual Mobility 2025-2026 is a rolling call with monthly deadlines. Applicants will be notified of the result up to 8 weeks after the monthly deadline.
