The Communauté de communes du Clermontois, in partnership with other entities, is launching an open call for one or two artistic and cultural education residencies under the Local Contract for Lifelong Artistic Education (CLEA), taking place in 2027.

The first residency will run from 1 February to 30 June 2027, and the second from 31 May to 3 October 2027. The discovery and immersion phases will take place from 7 to 11 December 2026 for the first residency and from 1 to 5 March 2027 for the second.

The call invites artists to explore the territory through two complementary themes: ‘Inhabiting, crossing, transforming: art in public spaces’ and ‘Memories, heritage and imaginaries of the future’. The initiative aims to bring artistic creation closer to local residents, encourage participation and develop artistic and cultural education across the territory’s 18 municipalities.

The call also encourages approaches that consider social, societal and environmental transition, including sustainable practices, digital sobriety, mobility and cultural diversity.

Professional artists and artistic collectives from France and abroad, working in any artistic field, are eligible. Applicants must demonstrate professional status and recognition by their peers, be available exclusively for the residency, speak French fluently and hold a valid driving licence with access to a personal vehicle.

The residency allowance is 12,000 EUR net for an individual artist for four months. For a duo or trio, the allowance is 18,000 EUR net, while a collective of four artists receives 24,000 EUR net. Accommodation in the territory is provided, along with two return journeys between the artist’s home and the territory, based on second-class SNCF fares within mainland France.
