2200 gives emerging artists time and space away from their usual routine. Residents live and work on site in Switzerland for about three months and work on a project that grows out of the place.
Alongside the studio, artists receive mentoring on presenting their work and planning exhibitions. Where it suits, artists can conduct an open studio to visitors.
There are three locations as part of the residency: a 1950s post office (Flims, Canton Grisons), a hotel from the late 1800s (Furka Pass in the heart of Switzerland) and a stone warehouse (Ponte Brolla, down south in Ticino). Ponte Brolla will host multiple artists at once and is built for exchange between disciplines.
The residency is mainly for emerging visual artists, but concepts for another discipline which match the site might be eligible.
