Connect and Create Relay Scheme, a professional development programme aimed at young communications professionals, will provide 11 months of support to 16 journalists, communications specialists, content creators, influencers and media presenters residing in one of the 12 countries involved in the ‘Tandems Créatifs’ projects.
Aimed at professionals with between 2 and 5 years’ experience in the fields of communications, journalism, media or content creation, the programme will enable each participant to support the communications efforts of a ‘Creative Tandem’ project in their own country. Participants will benefit from a training programme comprising 10 themed sessions — storytelling, social media, editorial strategy, press relations, etc. — as well as one-to-one mentoring.
Each Relay will be entrusted with the complete communication strategy of a Creative Tandem project in the country where they reside. They will manage it from start to finish, with the support of dedicated trainers and mentors throughout the scheme.
Applicants must be over 18 years of age, be proficient in French or English, and reside in South Africa, Benin, Cameroon, Ghana, Guinea, Kenya, Mali, Mozambique, Uganda, the Republic of the Congo, Rwanda or Senegal. Particular attention will be paid to their experience, motivation, local roots and audience reach.
