As part of Trenčín’s European Capital of Culture 2026 programme, Trenčín 2026 is opening a new opportunity for international artists to come to Trenčín and experience the city during this autumn season.

PERFORMA-Q is a transnational European platform dedicated to surfacing erased queer stories from Europe’s periphery. For Cycle 1 of its Residency Programme, it is selecting six artists or collectives from the fields of theatre, dance, performance art, and performative writing for residencies between October 2026 and April 2027 (2–4 weeks).

The European project OASIS is calling for applications from artists for an international art residency from 14 to 22 August 2026 in the High Tatras, where artists, youth culture and alternative creative spaces unite to respond to the rapid loss of Carpathian landscapes, wildlife habitats and authentic mountain life.

Across three distinct routes—from a drifting boat residency through the canals of France to a cycling expedition connecting Vienna, Bratislava, and Budapest—participants engage in a tapestry of experiences. These include water quality testing, participatory artistic interventions, storytelling, and hands-on workshops on the rights of nature.

European Media Art Platform (EMAP) returns in 2026 with a residency programme for artists and collectives in 15 countries. EMAP invites artists, artist duos, collectives, and artistic collaborations working in digital, media, robotic, and bio art to apply for a two-month production residency in 2026.

Partners from the Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia and Hungary are opening a call for applications for artists working in these countries. The selected artist will be granted two-months residencies in 2026 and will be invited to participate in a collective festival and exhibition at AQB, Budapest in 2027.

Trenčín 2026 launches TrenAir, the very first international residency programme in Trenčín.

Inspiration Forum Lab (IF LAB) is an interdisciplinary research programme that connects artists and scientists in the creation of research-based multimedia projects on the topic of trajectories as both structural and metaphorical movements across time and space. It runs from October 2025 to June 2026, with final presentations September – October/November 2026.

E75 Art Bus is calling for applications from professional artists resident in the regions of the E75 Art Bus route – Finnmark (Norway), Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Serbia, North Macedonia, Greece – to participate in a residency between April and June 2025 (ranging from 6 weeks to 2 months).

The International Visegrad Fund (IVF) and Willa Decjusz (Krakow) is calling for writers interested in residencies. The applicant must be a citizen of one of the Visegrad countries (Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Hungary).
