  • News / The Nature of Us: Open Call for Movement or Body-based Performance Projects (Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary)

    The Nature of Us open call is aimed at artists working and living in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland or Slovakia who are working on a movement or body-based performance project in 2021 or 2022 that confronts art practices with concerns about the environment. Among other forms of support, the project offers a two-week artistic research session in Bratislava, Budapest, Gdansk, or Prague in the second half of 2021 or the first half of 2022.

  • News / Open Call for the 10th Geumgang Nature Art Biennale 2022 (South Korea)

    For its tenth edition, the 2022 Geumgang Nature Art Biennale aims to create a new discourse in nature art around the rewilding of nature and art, and calls for artworks under the theme of ‘Again, Multiplicities of Rewilding’. Artists can submit model drawings that will be presented at the 2021 Geumgang Nature Art Biennale Project Exhibition, running 28 August - 31 October 2021, with selected projects then supported to be fully realised in 2022.

    Organised by the European Union, the New European Bauhaus Prizes 2021 will recognise and celebrate existing achievements and new ideas related to the Green Deal. There are two award strands – one for existing projects that can serve as examples, one for new concepts or ideas submitted by young people aged 30 or less.     The Defrosting project (part of Moving Classics: Sonic Flux) is an opportunity for a musician, composer or sound artist to create the audio for a 10-13 minute film during a residency in Svalbard, Norway in 2021. The piece will respond to themes of displacement and climate change. Applications are open to artists of any UK/EU/EEA nationality living and working in Scotland.

    In autumn 2022, Delfina Foundation will launch its fifth concentrated season of residencies and public programmes focusing investigations on the most pressing issue of our time - the climate emergency - in relation to its ongoing Politics of Food programme.   • News / ITAC - International Teaching Artists Collaborative: Call for Climate-Engaged Teaching Artists (Remote)

    ITAC - International Teaching Artists Collaborative is commissioning five teaching artists from around the world to design and deliver projects in their local communities that change beliefs and behaviours in relation to climate change. The geographically and culturally diverse artists will form the core of the Climate Collective – a subgroup of climate-engaged teaching artists who will learn from each other, provide peer-to-peer support, and experiment with different engagement methods. Artists must be available to complete their project between May and December 2021.

  • News / KÖR – Kunst im öffentlichen Raum: Open Call for ‘The Weather of Tomorrow’, Projects on Climate in and for Floridsdorf (Austria)

    KÖR - Kunst im öffentlichen Raum is inviting artists, architects, urban designers, landscape architects, cultural creatives and initiatives as well as interested local residents and groups to propose projects addressing the subject of ‘The Weather of Tomorrow’ in Vienna’s Floridsdorf district centre. The call has the objective of stimulating, emphasising, and improving the use of public spaces, of squares and streets in the Floridsdorf district centre throughout the year, in summer and winter. The maximum running time for temporary projects is twelve months, and all projects selected will be implemented in 2022.

  • News / Room to Bloom: Open Call for Young Artists with a Feminist, Ecological and/or Postcolonial Art Practice (Online / Italy, Ukraine, Poland, Greece)

    The Room to Bloom platform will collectively select a group of 100 emerging feminist artists to participate in a mix of trainings, workshops and talks throughout the year. Programme activities run mostly online June - November 2021. Selected participants will also be offered the possibility to propose works for production (15 works selected) later this year, to be presented during international events and exhibitions (Palermo, Kyiv Biennale, Warszawa Biennale, AthenSyn Festival).
