The fourth edition of the Exercising Modernity Academy will be devoted to Eastern Europe and its historical and contemporary methods of understanding. The Academy will take place in Berlin in October 2022, during which participants will encourage a broader reflection on these issues through lectures, seminars and workshops. A maximum of 18 people will be selected from Germany, Israel, and Poland.

‘Media Art Experiments’ – this is the motto that identifies lab30 festival as a meeting place for local, regional, and international media artists. For four days, about 50 creative artists gather at Kulturhaus abraxas in Augsburg (Germany) and present their latest works in exhibitions, concerts, workshops and performances. lab30 provides an exhibition hall and two stages for manifold experiments with arts and technologies.

Europe is the first professional convention dedicated to artists and professionals who make and support the new wave of jazz that has emerged in recent years, catalysed in England and now spread throughout Europe – an ‘up tempo’ jazz that mixes jazz harmonies with sounds and rhythms from current music (hip hop, electronic music, rock, afrobeat or nu-soul).

Since 2003, ARTCENA has coordinated Circostrada, whose mission is to develop and structure the contemporary circus and outdoor arts sectors in Europe and worldwide. Circostrada is looking for a European Project Officer to work full-time out of their offices in Paris. Start date is 5 September 2022.

The foodculture days platform is looking for proposals from individuals or groups working in the fields of art and culture; humanities and social sciences; earth and natural sciences; hospitality and gastronomy and/or from the agriculture field for the fourth edition of their biennial, which will take place in the city of Vevey (Switzerland) over ten days in May–June 2023.

Horner Eck is, as the name suggests, an old corner pub. It is offering three residencies of one-month to trans-regional and international artists: 15 August – 15 September 2022, 15 September – 16 October 2022, and 16 October –14 November 2022.

The RES URBANAE project explores the issue of reconstruction in the broadest sense by taking as its starting point the comparison of two cities – Brest and Dresden. A two-part residency is offered to develop a work for a travelling exhibition. The residencies run 9-29 January 2023 in Brest, and 29 January – 19 February 2023 in Dresden.

Gaudeamus Festival in Utrecht is looking for composers, coders, artists and creatives working in the fields of sound, interactive design and coding to collaborate on creating hybrid online/offline works. These will appear on Screen Dive, an online platform for interactive musical pieces, as well as in real life in Utrecht. Work happens remotely during July-August 2022 and then live in Utrecht from 7-10 September 2022.

IETM is looking for a Policy and Research Manager to design, coordinate, supervise, edit and administrate the policy and research work of IETM. This is a full time position (38h per week) located in Brussels, Belgium, with some flexibility between home/remote work and in house work.

The third topic of Voices of Culture 2021 – 2023 will generate project ideas and policy recommendations for the cultural and creative sectors and decision-makers on the topic of the role of the cultural and creative sectors in improving mental health of young people. A brainstorm meeting will be held in Brussels 4-5 October 2022. Organisations applying must be based in one of the 27 EU Member States.

The Nantes Institute for Advanced Study is establishing a new fellowship in Arts, Societies and Contemporary Mutations. In this context, the IEA in collaboration with local partners, Lieu Unique, the Nantes Saint-Nazaire School of Fine Arts, and Nantes Métropole, is offering an international artistic and research residency to artists from the global south. This residency is supported by Nantes Métropole – Culture Department and will run for 6 months from January to June 2023.

In collaboration with Borderland Residencies, Greylight Projects launches an open call for a three-month residency in Heerlen, the Netherlands (from 1 September - 30 November 2022). Artists based in the Netherlands and Germany are invited to apply.
