European artists, or collectives can apply to the EMAP residency programme with a project proposal for a residency of two months within June 2022 to January 2023. The artists will be collaborating with an artist of their choice or an artist local to the platform’s host institutions.

OneBeat is accepting applications for OneBeat 11 & 12, two in-person United States-based arts exchange programmes set to run in the spring and autumn of 2023. OneBeat begins with an opening residency, when Fellows collaborate to create original material, record new musical ideas, and incubate new projects. OneBeat Fellows then go on tour, performing for a wide array of American audiences, collaborating with local musicians, and leading workshops with youth.

Fogo Island Arts is announcing an open call for an experimental new residency dedicated to research into community economies and alternative economic models. This residency will provide an opportunity for the selected resident(s) to live and work on Fogo Island, Newfoundland & Labrador, Canada for a period of six weeks, up to three months, and will commence in late 2023.

Thoughtworks Arts seeks two artists-in-residence for separate but parallel residencies on-site at Mars.college, an educational programme, R&D Lab and off-grid residential community in the desert area of Bombay Beach, California. Artists are invited to apply to develop a project on one of two themes: ‘Speculative Futures - Do It There, Take It Back To The Neighborhood’ or ‘Alternative AI Creative Infrastructures - The Sky’s The Limit’. Mandatory dates of the programme run from 1 January to 31 March 2023.

A joint initiative spearheaded and curated by Ginkgo Bioworks and design agency Faber Futures, the Ginkgo Creative Residency (GCR) provides an experimental platform for creative thinkers to explore both the potential and implications of synthetic biology. The next residency will run from 12 October 2022 – 27 January 2023.

Art Omi: Artists Residency nurtures deep creative and professional connections in a vibrant social setting. Two critics/curators are invited to join two dozen international artists and help facilitate the progamme. The residency runs from 23 June - 17 July 2023.

The Federal Ministry of Austria: Arts and Culture, Civil Service and Sport (BMKOES), Division Arts and Culture, in cooperation with the MAK – Austrian Museum of Applied Arts, Vienna, is going to award a total of six scholarships for residency at the Mackey Apartments, Los Angeles, in 2023/2024. These scholarships are open to freelance artists, advanced students of architecture, and graduates of architecture immediately after completion of their degree. The scholarship is also open to teams of up to 3 persons.

The DePOT Artist in Residence (DePOT AIR) programme supports creative engagements with the historical roots and lived experience of deindustrialization. The organisers are interested in proposals that range across the performing, creative and visual arts, are rooted in deindustrialized areas in Italy, France, Germany, the UK, the US or Canada and that speak to the impact, and legacy, of mine, mill and factory closures. The creative work generated will be showcased in the artist’s home community as well as at the DePOT Project Assembly in June 2023 in Montreal, Canada.

Part of University of Buffalo, Coalesce - Center for Biological Arts is a hybrid studio laboratory facility dedicated to enabling hands-on creative engagement with the tools and technologies of the life sciences. Residencies span a minimum of one month and residents are encouraged to stay for two or three months.

Founded by artists for artists in 1998, Locust Projects is Miami’s longest running non-profit alternative art space. Locust Projects is currently inviting local, national, and international artists to apply for the opportunity to access the centre’s space and resources to create ambitious, large-scale new work in their 1500 sq ft main gallery.

After successful digital editions of the Reeperbahn Festival New York in 2020 and 2021, the organisers are planning two tracks this year: an in-person event if possible, a hybrid/online one if necessary. European music industry professionals are invited to apply to be part of the delegation visiting the conference from 13-16 June 2022. Travel is subsidised, but delegates need a ticket if the event takes place in-person.

Independent Curators International (ICI) supports the work of curators to help create stronger art communities through experimentation, collaboration, and international engagement.
