  • News / Kaunas 2022: Artistic Residencies Kaunas Tel-Aviv (Lithuania / Israel)

    Kaunas – European Capital of Culture 2022 (Lithuania) in cooperation with Liebling Haus – The White City Center (Tel Aviv) has announced an open call for artistic residencies in modernist cities. The organisers are looking for multidisciplinary artists whose projects would be based on locally conducted artistic research (for at least 7 days between 1 May - 30 July 2021), leading to a site-specific interpretation of the cultural heritage in Kaunas and Tel Aviv.

  • News / Face to Faith: Open Call for Performing Arts Project Proposals on the Topic of Faith (Czech Republic, Finland, Germany, Italy, Israel, Poland and Ukraine)

    Face to Faith is an international cooperation project aiming to understand the diverse meanings of faith in European societies. The Face to Faith project involves producing seven new performance productions, with each of the seven project partners managing one of the productions. After the premiere held by the producing partner organisation, the project will tour each production in at least one other Face to Faith partner city. The productions will premiere between October 2021 and September 2022.

    During 4 residency weeks of psychological research, in a remote location in Thailand, 12 women from different countries create together a series of artworks and performances that will be part of the Bangkok Biennial programme during 3 nocturnal exhibitions. This call is open to all forms of arts: painting, drawing, illustration, collage, multimedia art, photography, poetry, installation, polyphony, dance, performance, sculpture, sound design, textile art as well as social activism, education, therapeutic practices.

    The Octopus Programme is a guided research-based educational programme that encourages artistic research across sectors. The call for the next phase of the programme is open to all Diploma Students, Master’s and PhD students at the University of Applied Arts Vienna, Konstfack University of Arts, Crafts and Design Stockholm, as well as artists from or based in South Africa, Palestine and Tunisia. Applicants should have oral and written proficiency in English and be able to travel abroad twice between June 2021 and June 2022 (5 to 7 days).

    The conference ‘Dysfunctionalities in Contemporary Art | in Times of Conflict’ will take place 13 March 2021 at A.G. Leventis Gallery in Cyprus, and is inviting applications from potential speakers. The event will address Art and Artist’s rights under the prism and conditions of political tension, investigating the relationship between the artist and the political strategy of a state.     The Endangered Landscapes Artist Residencies and Arts Prize will select eight artists, or collectives, to be in residence in eight endangered landscapes: Cairngorms Connect (Scotland, UK), Carpathian Mountains (Romania), Danube Delta, Gökova Bay to Cape Gelidonya (Turkey), Greater Côa Valley (Portugal), Iori River Valley (Georgia), Polesia (Belarus & Ukraine), Summit to Sea (Wales, UK). Applicants should have a demonstrable link to one of the countries of their chosen landscape and ideally a link to the landscape itself.

    The Cultural Foundation in Abu Dhabi has opened applications for its Performing Arts Production programme. Proposed projects should be original concepts and, in light of the pandemic, can experiment with new forms of performance outside the closed space format. Applicants should be based in the United Arab Emirates or the Arab region, or be from the diaspora. Supported creations will need to be delivered by autumn 2021.
