  • News / MedeArts: International Exchange in Theatre for Young Audiences (Jordan)

    MedeArts and ASSITEJ Denmark are calling for participants to an exchange programme in the field of performing arts for children and young people. The exchange will include a 10-day residency in Irbid, Jordan and two preparatory meetings online. It is also the intention that the participants will visit Aprilfestival 2022 in Denmark, but this is still to be financed and confirmed.

  • News / Tokyo Festival Farm: Farm-Lab Exhibition and Asian Performing Arts Camp (Japan / Online)

    Tokyo Festival Farm is a new framework that brings together all development initiatives within Tokyo Festival, a festival for performing arts. Among its activities are two programmes open to applicants based in Asia: the Farm-Lab Exhibition, which will bring a group of emerging talents together, online and in Tokyo, to create a new performing arts production (September - October 2021), and the Asian Performing Arts Camp, an online programme of collective research.

  • News / Open Call for the 10th Geumgang Nature Art Biennale 2022 (South Korea)

    For its tenth edition, the 2022 Geumgang Nature Art Biennale aims to create a new discourse in nature art around the rewilding of nature and art, and calls for artworks under the theme of ‘Again, Multiplicities of Rewilding’. Artists can submit model drawings that will be presented at the 2021 Geumgang Nature Art Biennale Project Exhibition, running 28 August - 31 October 2021, with selected projects then supported to be fully realised in 2022.

    The Caravan Residency Programme is a year-long multi-city residency that invites artists, cultural practitioners, and activists to articulate and configure new modes of relating to and understanding urban, infrastructural, and social processes and formations. Residency activities take place from October 2021 – July 2022. Applications are open to emerging to mid-career artists in any discipline who reside in EU and a number of neighbouring countries.

  • News / Open Call for Artists and Scholars for Residency on Legacy of Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwish (France, Palestine, Belgium)

    Mahmoud Darwish Chair, Bozar, A. M. Qattan Foundation, Camargo Foundation and Mucem join forces for an open call honouring the legacy of the Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwish. Selected applicants will undertake a 4-week residency in one of three locations – Camargo / Mucem in France, A. M. Qattan Foundation in Palestine, and Bozar / Darwish Chair in Belgium – from July 2021 to July 2022. Applications are welcome from all countries and nationalities that compose the MENA Region and its Diaspora.

  • News / Goethe-Institut: READ Residency Programme (North Macedonia, Albania, Turkey, Serbia, Kosovo)

    READ - Regional Network for Cultural Diversity's residency programme is aimed at writers, translators, playwrights, poets, illustrators, graphic novel artists and comic book writers. Eligible applicants will have published at least two books/works of their own or at least two translations, and must be residents of one of the following countries: North Macedonia, Serbia, Turkey, Albania or Kosovo. Young and emerging authors are welcomed as well as established and experienced ones. Residencies last up to a month and will take place from May – December 2021.

  • News / Riyadh Art: Open Call for Tuwaiq International Sculpture Symposium (Saudi Arabia)

    Tuwaiq International Sculpture Symposium (TISS) will consist of 20 sculptors from around the world coming together to produce a series of permanent public sculptures. The 22-day Symposium (10 November – 2 December 2021) is a platform for international and Saudi artists to create public sculptures in a live setting. Applications are open to stone sculptors of all nationalities with at least 5 years of experience exhibiting works permanently or temporarily in outdoor spaces or galleries.

  • News / Summer Sessions Art and Technology Residencies (Netherlands, Austria, Russia, Spain, Italy, China, South Korea, Croatia, Belgium)

    The Summer Sessions are short-term international art and technology residencies for emerging artists and designers. Artists and designers working with art and technology are eligible to apply if they are under the age of 35 and/or have graduated within the past five years, and live in a country where there is a Summer Sessions sponsoring partner (Netherlands, Taiwan, Spain, Austria, Russia, China, South Korea, Croatia and Belgium). Each Summer Sessions residency lasts approximately eight weeks and takes place between July and September.

  • News / Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay: Contemporary Performing Arts Research Residency (Singapore)

    Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay invites artists, curators, programmers, writers, researchers and practitioners across all disciplines in the performing arts to apply for its inaugural Contemporary Performing Arts Research Residency, taking place in Singapore between April and June 2022. The residency offers two types of support: Artist-in-Residence and Researcher-in-Residence. Artists-in-Residence can apply for a residency period of one to three months, while Researchers-in-Residence can apply for a residency period of two to four weeks.

    Bucheon City of Literature in South Korea are launching a residency programme of for writers, translators and cartoonists of comics and graphic novels. The residency is for writers and artists who live in member cities of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network or who have been recommended by the Creative Cites offices. It will run for 4-6 weeks from October-November 2021.

  • News / A-Place: Video Production Open Call 2021

    As a member of the international collaboration A-Place, LOOP (a platform dedicated to the study and promotion of the moving image) will commission a video production to investigate the process of creating a sense of place in one of the six cities participating in the project (Barcelona, Bologna, Brussels, Lisbon, Ljubljana and Nicosia). Multidisciplinary artists who are legal residents in the European Union can apply.

    The Goethe-Institut and BOZAR are organising an artistic research residency programme between Iran and Europe. There are currently open calls for two residencies, both aimed at artists from Europe and Iran. One focuses on classical Iranian poetry and the other on Iranian music heritage. Participants will undertake a mix of in-person and digital activities between June and December 2021.

  • News / Art Like Salt: 2021 Open Call for Residency Artists (South Korea)

    Taepyung Salt Farm X LAMPLAB seeks artists to submit entries for the jury-based exhibition, ‘Art Like Salt.’ The winners will be chosen to participate in a residency programme in Shinan, designated a ‘Slow City’, in South Jeolla Province, South Korea, with the opportunity to create work in any of the following format, photography, video, installation, sculpture, or sound with the theme of ‘Dear Friend'. Due to the COVID-19, the Korean government is not issuing new visas for foreigners including tourists. You must either have a visa issued before or have Korean citizenship, or currently in South Korea in order to participate in the residency programme.
