MCH is currently seeking people to host Local Gatherings as part of their 2024 Meeting Point. This can be an activity such as a talk, workshop, seminar or creative action which engages people in connection and exchange in relation to the theme ‘Perspectives from the Grassroots’. After organising their local event (anytime between 8-16 March 2023), hosts will take part in an in-person programme in Hanoi from 21-23 March 2024.

Art Jameel launches a curatorial open call for exhibition proposals, to be developed for Hayy Arts’ first floor gallery at Hayy Jameel in Jeddah for May 2024. The call is open to curators and collectives (with a focus on early-career curators) working anywhere whose research and exhibition making engages with the following topics: Jeddah/ Hejaz histories; Red Sea ecologies; Red Sea histories of migration – the movement of people and ideas; connected geographies across the Red Sea (e.g. Egypt, Saudi, Yemen, Sudan, Eritrea, Djibouti, Palestine, Jordan).

Mekong Cultural Hub is now recruiting a new position of Program Manager, responsible for leading programs and projects related to Networks & Alliances. The position is open to candidates from and based in South-East Asia and Taiwan. If the selected candidate is based in either Phnom Penh or Taipei they may work at a Living Arts International office. Otherwise, they will work remotely, with approximately 1-2 trips within South-East Asia and Taiwan per year.

Kulturschafft e.V., CSN Lab, and Untitled Tbilisi are launching an open call for participation in an online mentoring programme from September to October 2023, followed by a programme of visit(s) and an exhibition in Yerevan from 6-12 November 2023. The project is aimed at artists, curators, cultural managers, art educators, and other cultural practitioners from Armenia, Georgia, and those who migrated to Germany, Armenia, and Georgia due to the Russian Invasion of Ukraine and political repressions in Belarus.

Organised by NeMe Arts Centre in Limassol, Cyprus from 3-4 November 2023, MoneyLab#13 aims to interrogate the state of our recent and emerging technologies, and how they relate to hegemonic economies working around three themes: blockchain, DAOs, NFTs and other crypto-related topics; dematerialisation of money, cashless society, CBDC/digital euro; revenue models for the arts. The aim of the ‘Boundary-Crosser’ residency project is to provide an opportunity for artists to explore creative intersections and processes with technologists. Selected artists will be hosted by one of the 8 participating CYENS Centre of Excellence Labs and will generate artistic work, during and after their time of residency. Residencies run 2-4 months.

Application are now being accepted for Al Madinah art symposium ‘Madan’, which will be held in Madinah, from 3-10 August 2023, organised by the Madina Art Center. The open call’s objectives are to bring together over 30 artists in one location and to encourage artists’ creative experiences by showcasing works in a variety of mediums. Applications are welcome from artists who specialise in photography and multimedia, Arabic calligraphy, Islamic motifs, plastic arts, and contemporary art.

For its eleventh edition, the 2023-24 Geumgang Nature Art Biennale aims to create a new discourse on nature art, and calls for artworks under the theme of ‘Shelter in the Forest II’. Artists can submit model drawings that will be presented at the 2023 Geumgang Nature Art Biennale Project Exhibition, running 26 August – 15 October 2023, with selected projects then supported to be fully realised in 2024.

The COST-funded action Toolkit of Care (TOC), had released an open call for two individual artist residencies (‘Short-Term Scientific Missions’) – one at Apo33, France (26 September – 8 October 2023); and one at MADLab, Cyprus University of Technology (dates tbc).

The International Writers’ Workshop at Hong Kong Baptist University invites applications from interested writers to join the IWW 2023 Residency Programme from 26 February - 24 March 2024. Applicants are encouraged to engage with the theme of ‘Origins & Futures’.

Theatre in Palm, an international project funded by Creative Europe, is hosting a Hybrid Residency on 6–17 November 2023. During the 2-week residency you will work with 10 local artists and 20 international artists, both live and online. The residency will end with 4–12 co-produced, new theatre pieces that are shared online with the whole group of 120 artists, plus 12 mentors, and the rest of the online world. Applicants must be resident in EU countries.

Applications are currently open for Tokyo Arts and Space (TOKAS)’s International Creator Residency Programme, targeted at individual creators working in visual arts, film, design and architecture. Residencies last three months, taking place in 2024 and 2025. Applicants should reside outside of Japan and have 5 years or more of experience in their specialised area of expertise.
