Creative technologists based in Southern or Eastern Africa can apply to participate in this lab using extended reality (XR) technology like virtual reality or augmented reality to develop new narratives on World Heritage sites in Southern and Eastern Africa. The 3-day ideas development lab will take place in Cape Town, South Africa, from 6-8 December 2022.

The first Climate Story Lab ZA is an incubator aimed at shifting the narrative and amplifying communication around climate change in order to make positive impacts against the global crisis. Up to eight projects will be selected for CSL ZA, and up to two team members per project will be invited to a four-day lab near Cape Town from 22-26 January 2023.

Two DJs will be selected to fill two available slots during the conference in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, from 24-26 November 2022.

The EU-funded project Euro-Egyptian Cultural Programme (EECP) is launching a call for European artists to join a residency programme in Egypt working with Egyptian independent cultural actors. EUNIC will offer up to three artists a three-week stay in either February 2023 or March 2023.

The Music In Africa Foundation (MIAF), a non-profit organisation operating in the field of African music, has partnered with Goethe-Institut to implement the Music In Africa Sound Connects Fund. The MIAF seeks to appoint a Regional Coordinator for the fund. The Goethe-Institut Nairobi is looking for innovative curatorial concepts for exhibitions to be held in 2023. The exhibitions will be part of the Sasa Nairobi exhibition series, the Goethe-Institut’s main programme in visual art focusing on conceptual work in all media, with an emphasis on photography, video, installation, and performance art.

Centre for Contemporary Arts Glasgow (CCA) and QANAT (a collective platform held by LE 18 Marrakech) are pleased to announce a call for expressions of interest for six research residencies as part of Confluence, a 1-year residency and research programme taking place between Marrakech and Glasgow focused on water as a political, historical and economic substance. Residencies take place in September 2022 and January 2023.

The Music Imbizo - an international music business conference, exhibition and film festival - in South Africa is now calling on curators and promoters to apply for this year’s event in Durban from 23-28 August 2022.

Down the Wire Live is a six-month collaborative project between B’sarya (Egypt) and Cryptic (UK). Both organisations will support artists, enabling them to participate in a collaborative research and development project resulting in a live performance/event in both Glasgow and Alexandria. 16 artists will participate in an exchange on 6 July 2022, with 2 selected for a final exchange to take place between October 2022 – early April 2023.
