- Putspace: Symposium on Public Transport as Public Space (Germany / Poland)
The ‘Public Transport as Public Space’ (PUTSPACE) project's Summer Symposium will take place in Görlitz/Zgorzelec, Germany/Poland, on October 27 – 31 2021. Researchers, artists, writers, filmmakers and others are invited to apply with contributions related to the topic 'Diverse Narrations, Experiences and Contestations of Public transport in European Cities'.
- Dance and Performing Arts Criticism in Europe: Writing About Dance in the Time of Corona (Online)
Writing About Dance in the Time of Corona is a four-day online seminar (5-8 July 2021) for emerging dance critics that will address the practice of dance criticism, as well challenges and new ideas appearing during the pandemic. The seminar is free and applications are open to everybody, previous experience with writing about dance is not required. The language of the seminar is English.
- culture360.ASEF.org: At Home / Being Home Online Residency for Emerging Artists from Asia and Spain
At Home/Being Home is an e-residency for young emerging artists from the performing arts, music, film and new media sectors. The residency will consist of a capacity building component and a collaborative component. It will be held online for a period of six weeks (15 September - 29 October 2021) and will offer an opportunity for capacity building, peer learning and collaboration. Four participants from Spain and Asia will be selected through an open call and grouped in pairs. Applicants should be emerging artists between the ages of 18 and 28 with 2 to 4 years in performing arts (theatre, dance, music) or new media and film, with a focus on interdisciplinarity.
- PACT Zollverein: Spot on Economies (Germany)
Spot on Economies focuses on economies as crucial crossroads between social, ecological, and political futures. Over the course of two weeks (1-17 October 2021), PACT Zollverein opens its whole house for a collaborative residential research phase framed by a public programme of notable lectures and workshops. Diverse research groups can apply to share and develop their ideas, questions, and proposals in a transdisciplinary way with other scholars, artists, practitioners and activists.
- Institut français: Fonds de mobilité « Culture au sahel »
Le Fonds de mobilité «Culture au Sahel» soutient la mobilité à l’intérieur de la zone du G5 Sahel, et en direction de la Côte d’Ivoire et du Sénégal. «Culture au Sahel» est ouvert aux artistes et aux professionnels de la culture résidant dans l’un des 5 pays du G5 Sahel : Burkina-Faso, Mali, Mauritanie, Niger et Tchad. La période et la durée de la mobilité sont à la libre appréciation du candidat mais la mobilité doit être effectuée avant le 31 janvier 2022.
- Aerowaves: Open Call for Dance Artists for Aerowaves Twenty
Each year the Aerowaves network selects 20 of the most promising emerging choreographers in Europe. Aerowaves promotes their work for a year, creating opportunities to perform with their partners. Some artists will also be selected to perform at the next Spring Forward Festival. Choreographers apply to the programme with a short (15-40 min), finished work. Applicants must be resident in Europe and the work you are submitting must have been produced in geographical Europe.
- Fanak Fund: Mobility and Zodeh - Consolidation Funds
Fanak Fund facilitates the mobility and creativity of artists and cultural operators living and working in Europe, the Arab-speaking world, and the wider Middle East. It currently has two open calls - one for its general mobility fund (aimed at individuals living and working in the Euro-Arab-Middle East geographical zone), and another for its consolidation fund (aimed at organisations/teams in Middle-East and Arab-speaking countries).
- Akademie Schloss Solitude / ARC Bucharest: ‘Solidarity is a Verb’ Web Residency (Online)
‘Solidarity is a Verb’ is a web residency for artists, collectives, associations, and initiatives of all kinds. Proposals can involve analogue means and low-tech, physical gatherings where possible and safe. Projects do not need to be conceived from scratch; ongoing initiatives (such as existing associations, networks) are welcomed. The residency itself runs 1 September – 1 October 2021.
- Granada UNESCO City of Literature: Writers Residence Programme (Spain)
The Granada Writers in Residence Programme is targeted at emerging writers, residing in any country in whichever language they write. It offers a month’s stay (30 nights) in Granada for two writers, between 2 November and 1 December 2021. The writers in residence will be expected to participate in activities related to the local literary system, as proposed by the programme’s organisers.
- CEC ArtsLink: Open Call for Artists for Art Prospect International Festival of Public Art (Online / Remote)
CEC ArtsLink invites artists from around the world (with the exception of St. Petersburg, Russia), to propose public art projects examining how contemporary art organisations engage, support and unite local communities. The 8th Art Prospect Festival will include twenty projects by artists from around the world, created in collaboration with local arts organisations, as well as an on-site Festival of public art at the Gaza Palace of Culture in St. Petersburg. Public art works can be displayed for up to one month beginning with the festival opening on 23 September 2021.

They are searching for 6 participants to form 3 reading panels on the following topics: Working conditions, Mobility of artists and cultural professionals, and Freedom of artistic expression. Applicants should be cultural operators from MENA countries who are living and working in the EU.
