- Regional Government of Styria Artist in Residence Programme (Austria)
The Regional Government of Styria is allocating scholarships for international artists of all fields and art theorists (maximum 40 years old) for the year 2022. Residents will stay in the centre of Graz, with their placement lasting a minimum of two months.

The Museum am Rothenbaum. Kulturen und Künste der Welt (MARKK) in Hamburg is awarding a three-month residency to a promising artist, (social) designer, architect and/or environmental activist. The aim of the residency is the development of a project engaging the topic of water-related climate change inspired by the materials, technologies and/or ecological knowledge in the museum’s collections. The residency is planned for September - November 2021.
- Art Connection Africa: Bag Factory Artist Residency Open Call 2021 (South Africa)
The Bag Factory Artist Residency will enable an emerging visual artist based in Botswana, Namibia, Uganda, Zambia, or Zimbabwe to undertake a fully funded residency at the Bag Factory in Johannesburg from 1 September to 30 November 2021.
- K3 | Tanzplan Hamburg: Residency Programme for Choreographers 2022-2023
K3 | Tanzplan Hamburg provides three eight-month residencies per season to choreographers, who are currently at the beginning of their career and have produced some choreographic work of their own. The next residency will begin August 2022 and run until April 2023. Over the course of the residency the three choreographers will each develop a full-length piece that is presented at the end of the residency on three evenings.

The Trinity Centre for Literary and Cultural Translation at Trinity College Dublin, the French Embassy in Ireland and Alliance Française Dublin seek applications from French literary translators for a residential translator fellowship to take place October-November 2021 in Dublin. These fellowships are awarded to practising literary translators who are working on the translation of a work of literature by an Irish author into French.
- Flanders Arts Institute: Call for Proposals, ‘Diversity in the Arts’
Flanders Arts Institute is calling for proposals for projects that can improve diversity in the arts field in Flanders and Brussels. Artistic projects are not supported, but otherwise a wide range of initiatives from tools to knowledge networks can be proposed, and by applicants around the world.
- La Biennale di Venezia: Biennale College Arte for Emerging Artists (Italy)
Biennale College Arte aims to complement and enrich its 2021/2022 exhibition with newly commissioned artworks by emerging artists, fully supported by La Biennale di Venezia. 12 artistic projects of young emerging artists under 30 from all over the world will be chosen for a training and development workshop (30 September – 11 October 2021), with four projects then chosen for a further production workshop (11-17 January 2022).
- Institute for Advanced Study Central European University: Artist in Residence Fellowship (Hungary)
IAS CEU offers one Writer in Residence fellowship and one Visual/New Media Artist in Residence fellowship to provide selected artists with opportunities to conceptualise and create new works while providing the Fellow community with opportunities for meaningful interaction with artists working in various fields. Fellowships last 3-5 months and may start in October 2022.

National, regional and international journalists are invited to visit the project Centriphery (21-25 July 2021), implemented in Romania by Prin Banat Association as part of the 2021 programme of Moving Fireplaces – a project focusing on memories and recent history of migration in the Banat region (Romania, Serbia and Hungary). International cultural journalists, art writers and critics, bloggers, working for online or offline magazines, newspapers, radio, television or other types of media can apply.

The Sound Connects Fund (SCF) is a multifaceted initiative that aims to accelerate development and increase the capacity of the cultural and creative sectors in Southern Africa by offering financial support in the form of grants and robust capacity-building programmes to eligible creative and cultural industry organisations based in Angola, Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
