- V4@Theatre Critics Residency at Divadelná Nitra (Slovakia / Online)
V4@Theatre Critics Residency is a creative platform for theatre critics from Central and Eastern Europe up to the age of 35. This year there are two strands: an in-person residency at International Theatre Festival Divadelná Nitra (1-6 October 2021) for critics from Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia; and then an online residency for critics from Western Balkans, Eastern Partnership countries and Russia.

The INHABIT Artist in Residence Programme of the Max Planck Institute for Empirical Aesthetics invites artists from various disciplines to collaborate with the institute’s team of scientists and researchers in Frankfurt, Germany. The upcoming residency periods are: April – July 2022, and September – December 2022.
- Kvitbrakka: K_AIR Programme for Visual Artists, Musicians, Writers or Independent Curators (Norway)
Every year Kvitbrakka’s artist in residence programme selects between 4 and 6 professional international and Norwegian visual artists, musicians, writers or independent curators. The organisers prioritise projects that are focused on subject matters particularly related to Northern Norway. The next residency periods are 1 February - 31 May 2022 and 1 September - 30 November 2022.

Funded by ERSTE Foundation, the Artist in Residence Programme at Q21/MuseumsQuartier in Vienna, Austria is open to artists, curators or theoreticians from Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, Slovak Republic and Slovenia. Available dates vary by country of application but run January - December 2022.
- The Saison Foundation: Online Research Residency
The Saison Foundation's Online Research Residency is open to individual artists working in the field of contemporary dance and performance art who are able to communicate in English, and who are able to carry out creative research between 10 November 2021 – 10 February 2022. The programme offers artistic development opportunities to research and spend time building links with the other participating artists.
- DISKURS35: Open Call for Artworks and Proposals for Festival of Art and Theory (Germany)
DISKURS is a festival at the interface between art and theory. The next edition will take place from 11-17 October 2021. Proposals are sought from the fields of performance, installation, media art, as well as lectures, discussion series and all hybrid or undefined formats. Two short residencies (27 September – 10 October 2021) will also be offered during the festival, inviting those involved with theory and art to work on research projects on site, which can be presented during the festival period.
- Open Call for Making Matters x Levi’s Digital Residency (Online / Remote)
Together with Levi’s®, British Council is inviting EU-based fashion, textiles, craft and materials designers or artists to submit creative proposals reimagining Levi’s® post-consumer materials. The Levi’s® Residency will run for eight weeks from August 2021 to October 2021 with a showcase at Levi’s Haus in London in October 2021. Applicants must be in France, Greece, Italy, Poland, Spain, Sweden, Romania, Portugal and Netherlands with professional experience in creating and delivering fashion, design, craft or making projects focused on sustainability.
- Centre for the Less Good Idea / LIA: Print-Making Residency for Artists Based in South Africa (Germany)
The Centre for the Less Good Idea in Johannesburg and LIA - Leipzig International Art Programme invite artists working across all disciplines but particularly in the digital realm (video, performance, media art, sound art) to apply for an international artist in residence programme in Leipzig Germany. The residency involves attending an etching workshop at Atelier für Radierung Maria und Vlado Ondrej. Applicants need to live and work primarily in South Africa but need not be South African.

REAL-IN is calling for creatives and artistic teams with an immersive and/or interactive project (in development or finalised) into which they would like to implement a collective and interactive dimension. Your project must be in one the following sectors: Music Festivals, Performing Arts or Fashion Industry. Particular attention will be paid to projects that combine those disciplines. Residencies will take place between October and December 2021. Applicants will be eligible from any country in the world.

STARTS4Water Consortium invites artists to apply for one of the ten residencies that are being launched by its European partners. This call is looking for artists to contribute to the sustainable management of water in a variety of ways through experimental use of and/or critical reflection on digital technologies.
- Digital Indo-European Residency Project Kolkata (Online)
The fourth interdisciplinary Indo-European Residency Project Kolkata will be designed on a digital platform that will give participants the feeling of actually experiencing the city of Kolkata. The residency will last for nine weeks and is planned to start from mid-September 2021. Artists will work and explore the city together and create an individual or collective art project. The opportunity is open to artists from the hosting countries: Germany, France, United Kingdom, Italy and India.

IG Rote Fabrik has opened applications for its next residency slot, which will run from April-July 2022, and is open to professional artists from abroad (non-Swiss artists outside of Switzerland) who exhibit high artistic and professional quality in the fields of visual arts, dance, theatre, music or film.
