The Workspacebrussels residency programme is aimed at Belgian and international artists working within the performing arts in the broad sense of the word (dance, performance, theatre, or crossovers with other disciplines). Workspacebrussels supports research, experimentation and creation in the performing arts.
They offer residencies all year round, except between mid-July and mid-August (summer break) and during the Christmas holidays (winter break). A residency lasts between one and three weeks. Sometimes several residencies
Once the project is selected, Workspacebrussels searches with the artist for a suitable space in the requested period(s). Thanks to their partners, they have several weeks of studio space at different locations in the city every year. The calendar is different every month, so schedules are made according to availability. They select a maximum of 10 projects per round.
If artists wish, they can share their research, practice or work with the team and/or fellow residents at the end of the residency. This can also take the form of a (semi)public try-out.
Workspacebrussels only offer overnight accommodation to foreign artists or team members. Possibilities depend on availability in their guesthouse, where they have two bedrooms with two single beds each. A baby cot is available. Workspacebrussels provides a flat fee of 750 EUR per selected project for travel expenses and lunch.
