The innovation laboratory TRAFO Jena is looking for artists who would like to visit its labs and engage with the research of scientists. This exchange should then lead to exhibitable artworks according to your ideas. Due to the space available, TRAFO Jena are especially looking for visual artists. However, other art forms such as performing arts, literature and music are also welcome. Experience in the field of Arts and Science is desired.
Your working time will be accompanied by an opening event as well as workshops of the participatory programme of TRAFO Jena’s Arts and Science soirées. You should be willing to actively participate in the programme, as the residency thrives on dialogue, exchange and presence. It is therefore important that you are on site for a large part of the residency period, which runs from 1 July – 3 October 2022.
After the end of the exhibition, TRAFO Jena will take care of the safe storage of the work. As a central point of contact for interested parties, they will take care of transport and price arrangements. In the future, they plan to organise smaller exhibitions in Central Germany from the works that emerge from the residencies. For this purpose they will sign a commission contract with you at the beginning of the programme.
TRAFO Jena provides a remuneration of 2000€, accommodation and a studio, as well as production and travel allowances.
