Titanik, in collaboration with HIAP–Helsinki International Artist Programme, invites emerging and established Palestinian artists to submit their one-month solo exhibition proposal accompanied by a three-month residency (in Turku and Helsinki) to take place April to June 2025.
This open call does not require the production of new works but encourages the recontextualisation of existing work in dialogue with the space and community at Titanik. Furthermore, the residency is non-production in nature; it is meant to provide an artist with time and space to temporarily lean away from the intensities of their daily routine, to focus on their artistic research and potentially begin a collaborative dialogue with the professions in the local art scene that Titanik is will facilitate.
Eligibility: Professional Palestinian artists working in the field of visual arts (media, installation) possibly intertwining with sound and performance arts and residing in Palestine or diaspora.
Titanik and HIAP will provide letters of support for visa application but, in the given geopolitical circumstances, success of individual visa applications cannot be guaranteed.
The programme provides the following:
- Artist fee 3,000 EUR
- Travel budget up to 1,000 EUR
- 2-months residency in Turku including an apartment and a studio and 1-month residency in Helsinki including an apartment and a studio
- Curatorial support
- Facilitation of dialogue with the local art scene
