Suralita has an international call to support projects devoted to music and contemporary sound research led by Spanish or international musicians and sound artists who have recently given birth to a child. The residency is for two weeks, between June and November 2024.
Located in the outskirts of Manacor (Mallorca, Spain), in the boundary between the rural and the industrial areas, Suralita opens its doors to artists who need to focus their energy in nurturing a project, making it grow, giving birth to it or, who simply want to dive into creative exploration.
The projects need to feature some elements of research, either creative or regarding new languages, and/or explore new paths for expression, creation and connection to the natural and social environment and to the territory. The goal for this project must be creative experimentation and trial/error, not producing a show or a record.
Accommodation, workspace and travel are provided. Suralita undertakes to welcome children and companions of the artist in residence and to cover their travel expenses whenever the resident artist requires it (up to 3 people staying in total in an open space).
