Saison Artist in Residence Visiting Fellow aims to build up an international network for contemporary performing arts and to enhance mutual understanding, and gives opportunities for international artists and arts managers to research the contemporary performing arts scene in Japan. The programme supports research visits to Japan for those who are expected to play an important role in the international performing arts scene.
Saison Artist in Residence Visiting Fellow offers the following:
- Research Residency for Artists
- Research Residency for Arts Managers
One international artist and one international arts manager will be selected as Visiting Fellows 2024.
There are two residency periods:
- 28 November – 24 December 2024
- 23 January – 25 March 2025
The Saison Foundation provides a grant of the following: one round-trip Economy-class ticket and/or living expenses (5,000 JPY per day excluding the days of arrival and departure) and/or research and activities costs (up to 5,000 JPY per day excluding the days of arrival and departure), with the total upper limit, 500,000 JPY for each artist and arts manager who meet the requirements outlined in the application guidelines. Accommodation and studio fees at Morishita Studio will be covered by the foundation as part of residency support.
