Kawamura Arts and Cultural Foundation > S.E.A. Socially Engaged Art (Japan)
The Socially Engaged Art Support Grant supports Socially Engaged Art projects that will take place in Japan and that commit to community and society; implement activities together with communities and residents; and aim to build and demonstrate models of a better society. This will further enhance in-depth relationships between art culture and the society and will contribute to cultivating higher cultural developments in Japan.
In view of the current spread of the new coronavirus infection, Kawamura foundation is looking for ideas for a project under the theme of ‘Socially Engaged Art Projects in the COVID-19 Related Chaos’ for the next fiscal year only. If adopted, the grantees will be required to announce prototypes (pre-workshop, prototypes, lectures, videos, etc.) for implementing the project in FY 2021.
Approximately 10 projects will be granted a maximum of 3 million JPY (~24,300 EUR) in total. Applications can be made by art organisations or artists of any age or nationality.
Deadline: 4 October 2020
