The Professional Exchange Programme, from 1 August to 1 October 2024, is to support practitioners who are facilitators or organisers of art and cultural events/projects (including artists) from from Europe and the UK to have the chance for a multi-week visit and exchange in Taiwan.
Taiwan Art Space Alliance, Art Site of Railway Warehouse, Hsin-Chu City, and Dawn Artist Village, The Grand View Cultural and Arts Foundation facilitate coordination and logistics of the exchange as needed.
Applicants must have been working at least for two years in arts and culture and have published articles related to arts and culture.
During the residency participants must give presentations in separate sessions of the 2024 Res Artist Conference and 2024 TASA Annual Meeting with Southeast Asia Professional Exchange Platform, which topic is regarding ‘Arts Residencies in Taiwan Today’ and assess the current landscape of Art Residency in Taiwan and explore future opportunities. Additionally they must write two articles about the observation of Taiwan Art-in-Residence now and they must conduct workshops during the residency.
Organisers will provide the visiting practitioner with the following:
- Accommodation (Studio/shared creative space) during the Programme. (one month in Dawn Artist Village (Taitung) and one month in The Grand View Cultural and Arts Foundation (Hsinchu).
- Local transportation fee (up to the given limit based on actual expenses and with a given maximum of 2,000 TWD for 30 days).
- A round-trip economy class ticket.
- 8,000 TWD for living per month. (about 250 USD)
- 16,000 TWD for written creation (about 480 USD)
- Visiting trips, connecting practitioners to cultural sites.
