Materahub and Ecoverticaleare are looking for four European artists and designers, available to participate in the Magma residency, in Matera, Italy, from 11 November to 1 December 2024.
Magma Residency is a transdisciplinary artistic residency programme rooted in Matera, Italy, designed to foster an inclusive, collective vision for the city’s future. Magma Fest is an event curated every year by Materahub and aimed at fostering cross-sectoral dialogue, as the most effective sustainable approach to solving global challenges.
The opportunity is open to Europeans and European residents and it is preferable that applicants:
- have familiarity with the topic of urban regeneration and urban development;
- have familiarity with practices of future design and visioning;
- have familiarity with practices of community engagement;
- understand the Italian language.
During each week of the residency, participants will receive training preparatory for the residency process, and networking activities with local cultural, and artistic professionals and organisations.
The hosting organisations will provide transportation (international and local), accomodation, and a flat-rate budget for subsistence. Furthermore it will provided all the necessary features, spaces and technologies for conducting all the phases required by the residency.
