Every year Kvitbrakka’s artist in residence programme selects between 4 and 6 professional international and Norwegian visual artists, musicians, writers or independent curators.
The programme offers one or two months stays with on-site accommodation and studio space and 5000 NOK (~470 EUR) towards travel expenses∫
Residencies are process-based and focused on enabling artists to dedicate themselves full-time to their projects. In the selection process the organisers prioritise projects that are focused on subject matters particularly related to Northern Norway.
Kvitbrakka is located in Berlevåg, next to the Havnemuseum by the Hurtigruta quay. With a population of just over 1000 inhabitants, Berlevåg is particularly known for its stunning arctic nature, the fishing industry, and the unique cultural life.
